ADULTS: The Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) program has replaced the previous Youth Protection Training (YPT) [5/31/2026]

Posted on Dec 22 2025 - 7:49am

BSA Youth Protection Training Replacement Program

The Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) program has replaced the previous Youth Protection Training (YPT) as the mandatory training for all registered adult volunteers
in the Boy Scouts of America. This new training is designed to be more engaging, accessible, and aligned with current best practices in youth protection.

It's good for all adults to take the Safeguarding Youth Training on-line class at: http://www.scouting.org/Training/ which should be done every year. Selecting YPT will automatically direct you to the SYT training.
